Flowers grow charity coffers

A long-running flower club has raised over £1,000 for Holbeach Hospital with an annual event.

Every year the Saracen’s Head Flower Club hold its annual China Tea Party, at which they look to raise money for a good cause.
This year a brilliant £1,078 has been donated to the Holbeach and East Elloe Hospital Trust which oversees the community run Holbeach Hospital with the money specifically for the Ann Waltham Ward.
There were 50 guests at the tea party which included a buffet made by members, before a display of flower arranging by Val Sandal.
There was also an auction and raffle involving 60 prizes.
A balloon picking game was also held with prizes donated by Boots.
A spokesman for Saracen’s Head Flower Club said: “We’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who supported the evening and to all the members for all help and support given and raffle prizes from visitors and members that were donated.
“Special thanks goes to Taylor Bulbs and Gedney Bulb Company for the wonderful plants and bulbs.”
