Flow ‘completely’ turned off in Spalding as company pledges to hand out bottled water

Anglian Water says it is to start delivering bottled water to people this morning (Thursday, September 4) after completely turning off the water to the town.

It said it had to do that as part of the repairs needed to Haverfield Road and Winsover Road where water mains burst yesterday.

Water at The Voice’s Victoria Street/Short Street base was off for a while but is now back on.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “We’re really sorry that some customers in Spalding have had low water pressures or no water at all since yesterday afternoon.

“This is due to two burst water mains in the area, on Haverfield Road and Winsover Road. Our team are on site to repair the burst main that’s been behind the problems.

“They’ve had to turn off the water supply completely to make the repair but are working as quickly as they can to get everything sorted. In the meantime, we’ll be delivering bottled water directly to affected customers’ homes today.

“We’re aiming to have the repair done and your water supply back on by 8pm. Thanks to our customers in Spalding for bearing with us while we get things back to normal. We’ll keep our website updated with the latest here: Check on or report an issue
