A 15-year-old from Pinchbeck has become the first Girl Guide from the Spalding district to win a Gold award.
Florence Sweetland from 1st Pinchbeck (St Mary) Guides has been presented with her Gold award.
To celebrate the Guide unit went for a meal at Shanghai Garden in Spalding.
While there, Florence was presented with her award by Spalding District Commissioner Carole Baker.
As part of the award Florence has completed her craftism and fixing badges as well as two Skills Builder badges ‘Take Action’ and ‘Skills for My Future’.
Part of this involved how to maintain her bicycle in good mechanical order and how to change a door lock.
She also designed and created a t-shirt to promote good dental hygiene and raised the issue of unethical fast fashion t-shirts.
As her special challenge she tried indoor climbing for the first time and managed to get to the top of the wall.
A spokesman for the Spalding district said: “This award has taken time and commitment to achieve and is something Florence can be really proud of.
“She is the first Guide in Spalding District to achieve the award.”
