Floral success helps church bell

A village flower festival proved such a success that the date is already set for next year.

Hundreds of visitors flooded through the doors of the parish church in Holbeach St Marks.
Last year saw the return of the event after the pandemic – but this year saw more visitors than ever.
“We would never have done it without master florist Jennifer from Yours Truly flowers and SuperFlora who donated the flowers,” said organiser Jan Sturgeon.
“It was a great community event,” added Jan.
The festival raised around £750 which will be put towards restoration of the church bell which has cracked.
The exact cost of repair is not yet known, but it will be expensive.
Plans are already under way for next year’s event on May 18.
