Fleet man set to turn on his spectacular Christmas lights tonight

A Fleet man who every year turns his house into a winter wonderland at Christmas to raise money for charity has announced he’s to switch on this year’s display tonight.

Jack Turner, whose house on Fleet Road glows on an annual basis, said he estimated this year around 100,000 bulbs will be displayed to spread festive cheer.

Each year, Jack has a collection box outside his house and donates every penny to give elderly Holbeach Hospital residents trips out.

Last year, Jack raised more than £1,100. He said the lights got off to a late start in 2016 so hopes to beat it this year with the switch-on ceremony at 6pm, today (Friday, December 1). The house is within walking distance of Holbeach.
