Five-star Pinchbeck United Sunday still on for clean-sweep

Pinchbeck United Sunday are still in the hunt for a quadruple after easing into the next round of the Spalding Sunday Football League’s Knockout Cup at the weekend.

Goals from Jonny Allen, Ricky Dickinson, Ricky Drury, Ainsley Johnson and Andy Law fired Tom Roberts’ side to a 5-0 victory at Brennans Sports on Sunday.

With Pinchbeck top of the league and still involved in the Lincs Sunday Cup and John Chappell Shield, it’s shaping up to be a top season for the title favourites.

Elsewhere, Punchbowl Panthers put in an impressive performance to crush hosts Spalding Seas End Wanderers 7-1.

Tom Gosling and Sam Munton both struck twice, with Tom Bates, Gavin Phillips and David Simpson also netting.

Michael Clarey replied for Wanderers, who remain in the bottom two.

Second played third in the other game over the weekend, as Sutton Bridge Sunday and Swineshead Institute Sunday drew 2-2 at Memorial Park.

Sam Cooper and Sam Lilley grabbed the goals for hosts Bridge, who remain four points behind second-placed Swineshead.

  • Sunday’s fixtures (10.30am): Division One: Pinchbeck Sun v Brennans; Punchbowl Tigers v Sutton Bridge.
