Five-star Holbeach United hammer Harborough

Both Lee Dube and Jamie Clarke hit doubles to fire Holbeach United to a 5-1 win at Harborough Town in the UCL Premier Division on Saturday.

The Tigers were forced to come from behind against their struggling hosts, but Dube’s header levelled matters before a quick-fire Clarke brace and Lee Beeson’s stunner made it 4-1 to John Chand and Graham Drury’s side at half time.

Striker Dube grabbed his second of the game after the break on what proved to be a good day of Holbeach, as title rivals AFC Rushden and Diamonds, Yaxley and Huntingdon Town all dropped points.

As a result, the Tigers are just a point off top spot ahead of their Lincs FA Senior Trophy semi final at Deeping Rangers on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Elsewhere, Pinchbeck United were handed a 6-0 hammering by hosts Oakham United in the Peterborough Premier Division.

It was a better day for Moulton Harrox, though, as they saw off Riverside 4-1 at Broad Lane.

Holbeach United Reserves were beaten 1-0 at home by ICA Sports as their winning run came to an end, while basement boys Crowland Town were hammered 5-0 at Langtoft United.
