Five fire crews called to large fire outside Crowland

Four acres of field and one tonne of hay bales have been destroyed in a fire outside Crowland today (Tuesday).

Three fire crews from Cambridgeshire aided Spalding and Market Deeping crews in putting out the fire off Spalding Road which was reported at around 12.30pm this lunch time.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say the firefighters used beaters and jets to bring the fire under control which is still burning as of now (5pm).

A farmer’s tractor has also been used to dig the earth around the fire.
