Kime Racing rider Tom Fisher recorded two top-five results in the penultimate round of the No Limits Pirelli Super Series 600 championship at Oulton Park on Saturday.
He remains in second place in the rider standings, with one round remaining.
A few British championship riders were using the track time to get a set-up for the next round of their championship at the Cheshire circuit next weekend.
That meant it was always going to be difficult for the regular riders to get on to the podium and that was the case for Fisher in the first of the two races.
After qualifying in sixth place, he started the race from a second-row grid position and moved up in to third of the opening lap.
But one lap later he was relegated to fourth when Dan Stamper made a pass on him.
Two laps later Jack Bednarek also passed him and Fisher remained in fifth place through the remainder of the 11-lap affair.
Starting the second race again from the second row, Fisher was fifth place for the first two laps before passing Stamper on lap three to settle behind series leader Barry Burrell. He followed Burrell for the remainder of the race but was slowly reeling him in, bringing the deficit down from 3.3s on lap six by nearly half a second a lap.
With the demise of one of the British championship riders ahead, Fisher went third on lap nine of 11 and had the gap from Burrell down to two seconds.
A lap later it was reduced to 1.5s as Fisher eventually crossed the finish line third place by just 0.2s behind Burrell, who clinched the 2023 title. Fisher holds the runner-up spot with a 14 point advantage over Tommy Fielding but with three races and 75 points up for grabs in the final round, there is everything to race for at Donington Park over the weekend of October 7/8.
