First-half Ward winner sends Holbeach United in UCL Cup semi-finals

Holbeach United 1
Boston Town 0

A first-half goal from Chris Ward fired Holbeach United to a ChromaSport UCL Knockout Cup quarter-final win over rivals Boston Town on Wednesday night.

Ward produced a fine finish from an Andrew Tidswell corner on the half-hour to settle a close Carter’s Park contest – and book a semi-final date with Wisbech Town.

Ryan Parnell hit the post late on for Boston, but Tom Roberts’ side were just about value for the victory in front of a crowd of 121.

Holbeach, who host Cogenhoe United on Saturday, will take on Wisbech in the last four next Wednesday night.
