First-half demolition job leaves Tigers struggling

A solid second-half display was not enough to undo the damage done in the first half of Holbeach United’s Thurlow Nunn League Division One North match at Gorleston Reserves.

They trailed 4-0 at the break after a disastrous opening half-hour.
A defensive error allowed the hosts to open the scoring and they doubled their advantage 15 minutes later.
It was 3-0 after 28 minutes and Gorleston chipped in a fourth five minutes before half-time. Sam Carter missed a 51st-minute penalty but the Tigers eventually got their reward with seven minutes to go when substitute Oskar Gadzia fired home.
Tigers: Simpson, Stainfield, Oldham, Roberts, Ling, Carter, Kacirek, Thorne, Compton, Wright, Cook. Subs: Gadzia, Keeble, Bassendine-Matthews, Ibeneme.
Attendance: 18.
