First big match in 20 years

Spalding Fishing Club will hold its first competitive club match for more than 20 years on Sunday, December 19.

The venue for the meeting is the River Glen roadside, with the draw at the roadside New Bridge (West Pinchbeck) at 9am, with fishing from 10am until 2pm.

The club, which has been in decline over the years, has seen a substantial increase in members this season as the sport has increased in popularity – mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Glen has fished incredibly well over the last two winters, with some superb roach catches.

Membership at the club is available at Granz Angling in Spalding and the club look forward to four successful matches over the winter period.

You can contact club secretary and treasurer Colin Fisher on 07715 209741 for more information.
