First away win propels Spalding RFC out of the relegation zone

Spalding RFC climbed out for the Midlands Two East (North) relegation zone with a game-changing 23-17 win at Nottingham Casuals on Saturday.

The timely victory is Town’s first away victory in the league this season – and gives them genuine hope of beating the drop with seven games left to play.

The win in Nottinghamshire sees the Elephants leapfrog Mansfield in the table and moves them to within five points of Casuals.

Spalding host seventh-placed Southwell next Saturday (3pm).

See www.spaldingvoice.co.uk early next week for a full report, with coverage also in Thursday’s edition of The Spalding and South Holland Voice.
