The most recent Hand Me Down Hub in Pinchbeck proved a success with help coming in from a local construction company.
Every month the community group, set up by Kay Marsh, puts on a session where families with children up to the age of five and pregnant women can have a look at some of the clothes that have been donated to it.
This month Burmor Construction got involved, collecting items to gift and baked goods to sell on the day at Pinchbeck Village Hall.
A spokesman for Hand Me Down Hub said it was ‘an amazing, busy morning’ with huge piles of clothes taken and £160 worth of baked goods sold.
Burmor is to double that total to £320 to go towards the hub which will be held on October 4 from 10am to 12pm.
Luke Boekestyn, of Market Deeping-based Burmor, volunteered at the event.
“I was blown away by the event, and felt privileged to have been able to be part of such a wholesome event,” he said. “It’s one I will be helping at again in the future and will be encouraging others to do so.
“What the volunteers do there is very admirable.
“I think it’s excellent what volunteering support goes into providing the immediate community with opportunities like what the hub provides.
“If anything this needs more recognition and support advertising to get the very best out the facility, especially in terms of additional support financially.”
