Firefighters blaze a trail at Lions Club fashion show

A fashion show staged by East Elloe Lions Club raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

And there were hot flushes among some of the volunteer models when they were escorted along the catwalk by firefighters in uniform.

The show at Sutton St James Village Hall was a sell-out. Good quality garments by High Street names were sold at heavily discounted prices.

East Elloe Lions Club secretary and PRO David Gordon said treasurer Norman Carroll was a busy and happy man.

He added: “It was a terrific response and a fantastically successful event for this small Lions club.
“We provided 12 local ladies as volunteer models and they did a very professional job and thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the same time!

“The show raised almost £600 and after expenses are deducted the balance will be donated to Breast Cancer Research.

“We would particularly like to thank the fire crew from Long Sutton who dramatically raised the atmosphere when they appeared in full gear and escorted our delighted models along the aisle for the last parade.”
