Fire engine hit during three-vehicle collision in Pennygate, Spalding

Three vehicles were in collision in Pennygate, Spalding on Wednesday afternoon.(October 21)

It happened near the junction with West Parade at about 1.50pm and involved a van and two cars.

One of the drivers left the scene and was later found and breath-tested. Police said a stationary fire appliance attending the scene appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.

Spalding firefighters did cut an occupant free from a car but details on any injuries are unknown. The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was called but police said it was stood down.
