Fire crews called to Spalding home as oven catches fire

Fire crews were called to a house in Spalding last night (Tuesday) after unattended cooking caught alight.

Crews attended a property in Fulney Lane South at around 6.30pm after the blaze was started by food being left unattended.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “There was severe fire damage to 50 per cent of the grill and contents and two cupboards, and light smoke damage to 10 per cent of the kitchen.

“It was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one fire blanket, one thermal imaging camera and Positive Pressure Ventilation was used to ventilate property. This was caused by cooking left unattended.”
