Fine third place for South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club’s young guns

The talented young guns from South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club earned a solid third place overall at the first round of the Junior Lincs League.

The evening started well, with the 12 and under (12/u) girls’ relay squad flying to victory in the opening race.

The 12/u girls continued to perform strongly throughout the gala, with a further win and two second places in the individual events.

All of the girls did well in the pool, with the 11/u and 10/u teams both finishing in the first three places in their respective races.

They were backed up well by the 12/u boys, who also put in solid performances.

In the other age groups, the boys’ “Development 2” squad also made a splash.

The five lads swam a massive total of 32 races between them, ensuring that SLCSC had swimmers and teams in every event.

Coach Hilary McKenzie said: “I was so proud of them all, it was a huge effort – especially as some were new to competing.

“They all swam really well and were rewarded with great results.”
