Fine start to season

It’s three wins out of three for Long Sutton in the South Lincs and Border League Championship.
Jake Burton’s side continued their fine start to the season with a comprehensive eight wicket win over Grantham.
The visitors were all out for 143 after batting first.
Josh Baker was the star claiming 5 for 23 in six overs, while Charlie Crisp claimed 3 for 30 and Burton 2 for 25.
Nathan Oliver (30) and Calvin Bird (31) put on 65 for the first wickets before Dan Oldfield (40 not out) and Tim Norris (25 not out) saw their side home.
The Sunday XI followed it up with a win over Newborough in the Rutland League on Sunday.
Despite Oldfield’s 32, Sutton looked in trouble at 70 for 6 and 106 for 7.
But Burton hit 40 not out and Joe Whitaker 26 not out to get them up to 176 for 7.
In response Newborough fell behind the rate and were all out for 158 in the penultimate over.
Whitaker claimed 3 for 19 from nine while Baker took 3 for 36.
