Plans for the next 285 homes in a Holbeach housing development have been passed.
The third phase of Holbeach Meadows has been given final planning permission after developer Ashwood Homes was told to make improvements by South Holland District Council’s Planning Committee which deferred a decision earlier in the year.
Among the major changes to the application is that a proposed entrance to the site from Tudor Way has been removed.
It will now be accessed solely from Fen Road, although concerns were raised over speeding, particularly in relation to a nearby crossing.
However Lincolnshire County Council says following a survey the average speed of drivers there is 27mph and raised no objections.
Concerns were also expressed about less open space on the site.
But before it was unanimously passed, councillors praised officers and the developer for the changes made.
Coun Sophie Hutchinson said: “I’m pleased with the amendments and it’s definitely an improvement.
“I’m not happy with the designs but I agree with officers that unless national or local design guides are put in we can’t refuse it on this.
“I don’t think the crossing is a suitable location, but Highways are happy, so there’s not a lot we can do.
“It’s not perfect, but it’s not terrible.”
In total 900 homes are being built at the site with the Planning Committee meeting being told that they’re all expected to be completed by 2043.
