Filmmaker guns for Berlin

A Cowbit filmmaker has taken his comedy cop buddy movie to the Berlin Film Festival Film Market in the hope of securing wider distribution.

The Blazing Cannons stars Cowbit man Mark Noyce, who co-wrote and co-directed the movie with filmmaking partner Ben Shockley.

Mark’s home village features in the film, alongside scenes shot in nearby Peterborough.

The pair shot the film over the past two years, filming mostly at weekends.

The end result is the story of “two seventies obsessed cops called Saxon and Steel who are on the trail of a serial killer in a local town.”

The pair said the movie riffs off the likes of Starsky and Hutch and Alias Smith and Jones.

As well as familiar scenery, there are also some familiar faces, with Shaun Williamson (Barry from EastEnders) and Steven Arnold (Corrie’s Ashley) making cameos.
