FEATURE: Bakkavor offers variety of roles for apprentices

One of South Holland’s leading employers runs a successful apprenticeship scheme which gives school-leavers a foot in the door to the food industry.
Bakkavor, which has sites in Spalding, Sutton Bridge and Holbeach St Marks, is now accepting applications for apprenticeships starting this September.
The company runs two levels of apprenticeships:
Accelerated Management Scheme (AMS) provides a fast track route for graduates and existing employees into senior level management.
Advanced and Higher Apprenticeship schemes enable school leavers and those starting in a new career to gain qualifications and real life experience in Bakkavor’s fast-moving food manufacturing environment.
The schemes run for between one and four years, depending on the type of apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are available in several areas of the company’s business, including development, manufacturing, technical, administration and engineering.
A spokesman said: “From day one in both of our schemes you get real responsibility where you will embark on your exciting career with us.”
