Farewell to Spalding guide leader Ann Tilbury

Guides in Spalding have bid a fond farewell to their long-serving leader.

Ann Tilbury has been the leader of 1st Spalding (St Mary and St Nicolas) guide unit since 1994, as well as joint Spalding District Commissioner for six years and county camp and holiday advisor from 2006 to 2011.

In 2011 she was also presented with a her 40 years service to Girl Guiding award.

She was presented with a gift, card and flowers.

Jane Amess said: “Ann has given so many opportunities and new experiences to so many girls over the years and we are sorry to see her go.”

Lorraine Derrick has taken over from Ann as the leader of 1st Spalding Guides, although Ann will stay on as an occasional helper.
