A family will be joined by a band of volunteers to put on Christmas festivities to ensure nobody is alone.
Vanessa Browning has served up a Christmas dinner for anyone who wishes to come for the last three years.
It has grown in that time to involve her whole family and spread to an additional day on Boxing Day.
This Christmas period is set to be no different, although Vanessa will now be serving the meals at Pinchbeck Baptist Church.
She is behind the Community Mind Matters initiative and will be serving food and offering drinks and games from 12pm to 3pm on both Christmas and Boxing Day.
“It’s for those people who might be on their own or struggling to cook for themselves, though anyone is welcome to come,” said Vanessa.
“It’s such a rewarding thing to do and something I look forward to every year.
“All the family get involved and there is just a brilliant atmosphere.
“I don’t think I’d do Christmas any differently now. Christmas is about helping those that need it.
“I don’t like seeing or hearing about people who are on their own.
“It can be a particularly lonely time and it’s shocking how much of an impact it can have on mental health.”
Vanessa’s daughter Rachel and granddaughter Indie Rose will be among those volunteering alongside deputy mayor of the Greater Lincolnshire Combined Authority, Ingrid Sheard and 14-year-old Ollie Ford who is collecting presents to hand out on the day.
They can be dropped off at Spalding Library. Presents can also be dropped at The Green Bowl on New Road in Spalding.
