Family fun day in Spalding

A Spalding service station is set to host its first summer fayre to raise money for Spalding’s Tulip Suite and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The businesses surrounding Welcome Break services on Goodison Road, formally known as Applegreen, are putting on the event on Sunday, August 20, from 10am to 3pm.
Nearby Ashwood Homes have lent land to host some of the attractions which includes an appearance by the Ghostbusters, a tractor visit, a children’s fancy dress competition, bouncy castle, host of games, stalls and refreshments.
Other sponsors of the event are Bingham Woods, Jake Mason Roofing and Bill Williams Building.
The Welcome Break manager Kieran Vertannes said The Tulip Suite was their choice for a local charity to support while Welcome Break are raising funds for Macmillan nationally.
“We really do need people turning up and we have so much going on.” Kieran said. “It’s going to be a really good day and fun for all the family.
“If there’s any bands that would like to play, we’d love to hear from them.
“We’re also on the look-out for any businesses that could donate raffle prizes.
“Macmillan is an important charity for me having had prostate cancer before while the Tulip Suite are looking to renovate their end of life care at the Johnson Hospital.
“We’re hoping to raise £5,000.”
