Extra volunteers are needed as popular Holbeach event keeps thriving

Organisers of a thriving summer outdoor event are appealing for more helpers.
The Holbeach Town and Country Fayre is held over a weekend in June and provides entertainment and outdoor enjoyment in various forms that attracts many visitors of assorted age ranges.
It has gone from strength-to-strength over many years with the aim of being able to donate to local causes in the area from the proceeds.
However, all the organisational work falls upon a small but dedicated committee which works behind the scenes in order for the event to happen. And for the event to continue to thrive it needs more helpers.
Committee chairman Andrew French explained: “In recent years the event has gone from strength-to-strength and is now looked upon as one of the prestigious summer events in the Lincolnshire outdoor calendar.
“It’s comforting to know that visitors come from near and far to be part of the event, for which the committee is grateful that our efforts have helped to make it possible.
“But, in order for it to carry on into the future at its present scale, there is a shortage of committee members.
“The event has grown in size and scope, but the organising side has not and therefore more members are required.
“On behalf of the committee, I would like to invite anyone who feels that they can offer their participation and join the committee to offer their services.
“There is the possibility of making this event even better as moving forward is the only way to go.
“But it does need more people in the organising section to make it possible.
“This invitation is open to anybody who feels they can offer input into keeping this event alive for the future as well as being stronger.”
Anybody interested or wanting more details can attend the annual meeting being held in the function suite of the United Services Club in Church Street, Holbeach, on Monday at 7.30pm.
The committee can be contacted by e-mailing holbeachtcf@gmail.com or calling 07599 634830.
