Extra cheer for Portugal plan

Spalding cheerleaders have been given a boost as they look to raise enough money to take part in a competition in Portugal.

Empire Elite Allstars is looking to send its under 16s team to the ICONS competition in June, the first of an end of season competition for some of the best in Europe.

Developer Allison Homes Central, which is building the Chapel Gate development in Moulton Chapel, has stepped in to donate £500.

Nikita Capes, director at Empire Elite Allstars, said: “The team of 21 girls aged 11 to 16 have already been working hard since August, learning their new complex routine in preparation for six UK competitions before their main competition in June.

“Whilst working hard in the gym, the girls are also busy fundraising to support the financial costs of the trip and are extremely grateful to Allison Homes for their donation and collaboration.”
