Explore Roald at SGS next lecture

Polar Star – The Expeditions of Roald Amundsen will be the final lecture of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society (SGS) winter season.

Historian Alastair Goodrum will speak about the great Norwegian explorer at Broad Street Methodist Church from 7.30pm tomorrow (Friday).

Amundsen picked up many firsts including to reach the South Pole, and fly across the Arctic Ocean and North Pole.

A SGS spokesman said: “This illustrated talk brings to life the exploits of this great explorer and relates how he disappeared without trace.”

Spalding Grammar School lectures are open to all and start at 7.30pm, admission fee is £3 on entry. For more information visit https://sgsoc.org.
