Joint Holbeach United managers Graham Drury and John Chand have worked their magic to complete deals for two exciting wingers.

Drury swooped to snap up ex-Spalding United ace Jake Gibson on Tuesday, just days after Chand brokered a deal to bring former Kettering Town left-sider Ashley Fuller to Carter’s Park.

Pacy left-footer Gibson was a firm favourite for Drury during his time at Stamford, while Chand worked with Fuller during his days as Magnet Tavern chief – with the duo reaching the final of the FA Sunday Cup together.

On Gibson, Drury said: “Jake was brilliant for me at Stamford and I’m delighted to bring him here.

“To get a winger of his quality to join us is a real coup for the club.”

Chand, meanwhile, is predicting big things from Fuller – who was a target for the Tigers during his first spell at the club.

He said: “Ashley is an exciting winger who will play predominantly on the left. He can also do a job for us in attack or off the front.

“He will be a very exciting addition to the UCL. He is quick, skilful and will bring great experience and balance to the side. I know for a fact that he had options to sign for clubs higher up than us.

“It’s great to have a top left-sided player signed up, they are few and far between. When the likes of Ashley become available you have to do all you can to get them – and I’m delighted that we have got him. He’s a top signing.”

One man not joining Holbeach is top keeper Paul Bastock. Drury has confirmed that any deal for him is now dead after Royston tabled a better offer.
