A series of events are to be held in the area to mark National Carers Week.
This year’s national awareness week focuses on helping carers stay healthy and connected and there are three events scheduled through the week organised by the Lincolnshire Carers Service.
The first is an awareness stand that’s heading to Spalding’s Market Place between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday, June 12.
That’s followed by a Carers Health and Wellbeing event at the Ivo Day Centre in Spalding from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, June 14.
A mini-pampering session will be among the attractions for carers as well as a light lunch and plenty of advice from experts.
A carers information and advice stand will also be at the Johnson Community Hospital the following day (June 15).
Malcolm Ryan, Lincolnshire Operational Services Manager for Carers FIRST, said: “It is concerning that so many carers continue to struggle with their own health and wellbeing while looking after others. Carers provide vital support to those they care for, and it’s important that they can access support and consider their own wellbeing alongside their caring role.We would encourage anyone who is looking after a relative or friend to contact The Lincolnshire Carers Service”
