Elite are among the best in district

This week’s Pride of South Holland Award featured nominee is Elite Sports.

The person who nominated them wrote: “I feel Elite are worthy winners of the Community Sports Award for all they do in Spalding and the surrounding area for children of all ages.

“Firstly the work they do within schools. Providing a service which enables many children access to sports they would not normally have access to. At my son’s school they attend for lunchtime break and entertain the children providing games for all. This occupies the children whilst giving an outlet for their energy in a positive way. My son has attended many of the school games organised by Elite for local schools. Again golf, cricket, football and athletics to name a few. These are well organised and fun days for the children giving them a sense of pride representing their school.

“The next area is the holiday camp Elite provides. My son attends several days through the summer especially purely as he enjoys them so much. The staff are fantastic with the children joining in leading by example. They are always well structured and organised keeping the children busy all day. Football pool, darts, tennis, volleyball, dodgeball, football, yoga, the list my son tells me about is endless. They also reward the children with fantastic prizes throughout the days and weeks. The staff have a great working relationship with the children and make them feel relaxed and happy and most importantly confident in having a go at everything!

“Then there is the football academy. My son loves to play and has attended the weekly match night which is accessible to all children (there have been weeks when a particularly poorly child has attended and the attention and accommodations the coaches made to ensure he was looked after but enjoyed himself was above and beyond what I have seen before at other clubs).

“It’s fun and free enabling children who can not play for a team weekly the chance of a game of football. The football academy is something special in our eyes.”
