A Spalding woman and her former colleague are stepping into the night on three marathon walks one of which is in Iceland.
Pam Thompson, of Spalding, is joining former Bakkavor colleague Jenny Darroch, of Murrow, for the Moonwalks in Glasgow and Reykjavik in June where participants walk 26.2 miles through the night in aid of breast cancer research.
They have already completed this year’s London event last month.
Jenny has fought off breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2014 and the pair have completed similar events in the past as a way to give something back.
This year they’re two of only 23 people doing all three marathons.
Jenny said: “Now that I’m back to full fitness I really enjoy giving something back to a charity that supported me and hope that I can inspire others to stay fit and healthy while raising money for such a good cause.
“This is my biggest challenge to date.
“Walking through the night is the toughest part and with Edinburgh and Iceland being only week apart, ensuring we don’t pick up blisters or injuries is really important.”
