Duo wanted for questioning after fraud of elderly resident

Police are hoping the public can help identify two men after an elderly person from Moulton was defrauded.

The men had trimmed a hedge at the victim’s house on Monday, August 27 and an appeal has been launched to see if they’ve offered to do work at any other homes.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “We believe the two men in the images can help with our investigation into a fraud.

“On Monday August 27 two men offered landscaping services to an elderly resident in the village of Moulton.  They finished trimming a hedge at the residents house and then offered to do some more work.

“At approximately 11 am they followed the resident to Weston Post Office where he withdrew a large amount of money which was handed over to the men who then got into their white Peugeot Partner van and drove off.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Molton area who may have been approached for similar work and also anyone who has information that can help our enquiry.

“We would in particular like to identify the two people in the images who we think will be able to assist the investigating officer.”

Anyone with information is asked to email Lincolnshire Police at [email protected] or call 101 quoting the incident number is 184 of 27 August.
