Two goals apiece from Elliott Price and Adam Abell earned Pinchbeck United a 4-2 derby win over Holbeach United Reserves on Tuesday night.
Price struck twice in the first half of the Peterborough Premier Division clash at Knight Street to put Ian Dunn’s side in command.
The first was a towering header from a corner, with number two a penalty.
Abell then notched early in the second half to seemingly seal the points for hosts Pinchbeck – only for the Tigers to come roaring back.
Paul Newcombe reduced arrears with a well-placed lob over stand-in keeper Brad Murrell and Matty Cawthorne pulled another one back for Omar Joof’s charges 15 minutes from time to set up a grandstand finish.
However, Abell put the result beyond doubt with his second late on to seal the win and fire Pinchbeck up to fifth in the table.
Meanwhile, Moulton Harrox registered their third Premier Division draw from as many games as they were held 3-3 in a thriller at Leverington Sports.
Moulton went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Billy King and Ian Bradbury – and were looking very comfortable until the 75th minute. However, an own goal and a keeping error drew Sports level.
Leverington then went 3-2 up, before 16-year-old sub Louis Steadman grabbed a late equaliser to keep their unbeaten start going.
Harrox assistant boss Paul Crowson said the result was “disappointing to say the least”.
There was a real thriller in Division One as Sutton Bridge United earned a 5-4 victory at Wisbech Town Reserves.
Curtis Morais led the charge for United with a hat-trick, while Ben Partridge and Lee Still notched the other goals. They had led 5-1 at half-time.
