Duo continue charity drive

A hugely popular 80s themed party and a New York Marathon effort has proved fine fund raisers for Cancer Research UK.

The 80s nights are put on by Duncan Wright and Ian Haynes at the South Holland Centre and the most recent eighth running of the event raised £4,000.

Duncan also ran the New York Marathon last November and raised a staggering £4,237.66 that has also been donated to Cancer Research.

Ian has had battles with cancer while Duncan has a number of family and friends who have been affected by the disease.

Duncan said: “Thank you to all who have donated and help to raise this money. Having held eight 80s themed parties, plus having run the London Marathon in 2011 as well as last year’s New York, the full total raised for Cancer Research is just under £40,000.”
