Dunn goal pegs back Premier Division leaders

Player/boss Ian Dunn was on target as Pinchbeck United held ChromaSport Peterborough Premier Division leaders Coates Athletic to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

The veteran’s first-half strike ensured that Pinchbeck remain well-placed in third, just seven points behind Coates with two games in hand.

Moulton Harrox fell further away from the title picture after a 1-0 home loss to Stilton United, with Liam Rodden grabbing the only goal. Harrox are now ninth, some 11 points off the pace.

At the other end of the top flight, Holbeach United Reserves continued their upturn in form with a 5-0 victory at Deeping Rangers Reserves.
Winger Jonny Wiggins grabbed two for Omar Joof’s resurgent side, with Matt Cawthorn, Jack Smith and Tom Brooks also netting.

Basement boys Crowland Town also stopped the rot with a 2-2 draw at Peterborough Sports Reserves. Leigh Crane and Virginijus Simkus got the goals.
In Division One, Daniel Goddard’s strike couldn’t stop Moulton Harrox Reserves slipping to a 4-1 defeat at Warboys Town.

Big winners of the day were Spalding United Reserves in Division Two.
They returned to the summit with a 10-1 Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field success over Thorney Reserves.
Edgaras Buzas led the charge with four goals, with Jack Wycherley (2), Adam Braybrook, Jamie Casey, Thomas Coaten and Jake Farrell rounding off the rout.

Another South Holland side topping the table are Spalding Town in Division Three. They saw off Peterborough Sports 4-1 at the Castle thanks to goals from Gary Booth, Tomasz Rabiega, Martin Sandall and Ryan Wheeler.

Down in Division Four, Sutton Bridge United Reserves finally grabbed their first point of the season after a 1-1 home draw with Huntingdon Rovers.
Ben Norman’s strike got them up and running.

It was also a good day for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves, who won a thriller at Stamford Bels Reserves 4-3.

In Division Five, Lee Jackson and Luke Baines both bagged doubles for Whaplode Drove in their 5-1 victory over Netherton United B.
Lee Horwood delivered the other Drove goal.
Tydd St Mary Reserves were also on winning form thanks to Daniel Chapman’s hat-trick. They defeated Coates Athletic C 3-2.
