Duncan and Toplis provide huge sponsorship boost for Halmer Harriers

Halmer Harriers Spalding Running Club have been given a big boost after securing sponsorship from Duncan and Toplis chartered accountants.

This sponsorship money was used by the club to support and provide the new running leaders they needed for their hugely popular (and free) Couch to 5k programme.

Indeed, some nights the Harriers have more than 60 runners in attendance.

Chairman Lisa Gill said: “I’m delighted to have the new running leaders to help more people to get out fit and active.”

Meanwhile, Halmer Harriers sent a strong contingent to compete at the recent Boston Marathon.

Ade Mills was their only member to take on the full marathon. He finished in a time of 4.11hrs.

The half-marathon was attempted by eight runners, with all finishing inside 2.25hrs.

Kristina Basaraba Lazdina (1.47hrs), Rebecca Richards (1.49hrs) and Andrew Hooker (1.56hrs) all completed the course in under two hours.

Results: Full – Ade Mills 4.11hrs. Half – Kristina Basaraba Lazdina 1.47hrs; Rebecca Richards 1.49hrs; Andrew Hooker 1.56hrs; Zoe Parla 2.09hrs; Steve Tucker 2hr.15hrs; Tim Baxter 2.16hrs; Katherine Hopkins 2.23hrs; Katherine Baxter 2.24hrs.
