Graham Drury insists that Holbeach United are still aiming to go all the way in the FA Vase ahead of their second qualifying round date with UCL Division One side Blackstones at Carter’s Park on Saturday (3pm).
The Tigers will have all of their big guns back available, with the likes of Lee Dube and Jamie Clarke rested for Tuesday’s 6-2 UCL Knockout Cup win at St Neots Town Saints.
When he decided to take the role of co-chief alongside fellow boss John Chand, Drury cited the Vase as one of the big pulls for dropping back down to step five football.
And he’s confident his Tigers will progress against lower-graded opposition this weekend.
Former Boston United and Stamford chief Drury said: “We’re going to give the FA Vase a proper go this year.
“We’ve had Blackstones watched and it’s one of those games that we should win if we’re at it.
“It’s a good draw for us to get started with and we’re confident that we’ll have a good run.”
Opponents Stones are currently tenth in UCL Division One. The winners of the clash will pocket £600 in prize money.
