Drug driver banned for three years after second conviction

A second conviction for driving under the influence of cannabis has led to a Spalding woman being banned from driving for three years.

Melissa Arnold, 27, of Hereward Road admitted drug driving when she appeared at Boston Magistrates
Court.

Prosecuting, Rebecca Wilson said Ms Arnold was stopped on February 10 while driving her Nissan Micra
in Wintergold Avenue after police smelt cannabis in the car.

She said a small quantity of cannabis was found on her and a subsequent drug test found she had 11
micrograms of cannabis in her bloodstream, the legal limit being two.

The magistrates heard that Ms Arnold had had a previous conviction for drug driving from the day after
she was arrested for this offence.

As well as being banned from driving for three years, she was also fined £150 and ordered to pay a total
of £119 in court costs and charges.
