Drove eight times over cannabis limit

A Spalding driver has been banned and fined after admitting driving with eight times the permitted level of cannabis in his system.

Graham Stevan Kirkpatrick, 35, of Queens Road, was seen driving his Iveco van in Holbeach Road, Spalding at 4am on September 14 and admitted to police he had been smoking cannabis the night before.

Jim Clare, prosecuting at Boston Magistrates Court, said he gave a positive drugs wipe with a reading of 16 micrograms of cannabis, the legal limit being two.

Kirkpatrick, who represented himself and said nothing when invited to do so by magistrates, was banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay a £120 fine and £117 in court costs and charges.
