Driver suffers ‘serious injuries’ in collision

A driver has been seriously injured in an incident which closed a Whaplode St Catherine road today.

Emergency services were called around 11am after a collision between a black VW Golf and a silver Renault.

Lincolnshire Police say the driver of the Golf was taken to hospital while two people in the Renault were uninjured.

A spokesman said: “We were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Raven’s Bank in Whaplode St Catherine at 11am.

“A silver Renault and a black VW Golf were involved in the collision. The driver of the VW sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

“The driver and passenger of the Renault were uninjured.”
