Driver ‘didn’t know’ she was already banned

A 29-year-old Spalding woman has been fined for driving while disqualified after telling the court at Boston that she did not know she had been banned.

Charlotte Pearson of Livingstone Drive, who admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance, was said to have been stopped by police in a routine check on July 4 while driving her Seat Leon car in Redstone Road in Boston.

Prosecuting, Emma Lant said Ms Pearson had been disqualified from driving under the totting up procedure until December 28 but her driving licence had shown the incorrect address so she had clearly not told the DVLA of her change of address.

Ms Pearson told the court, via a video link, that she had had no time to change her DVLA details as she had had mental health issues and was ‘not very well’ at the time.

She had six penalty points put on her licence and was fined £346 and ordered to pay a total of £120 in court costs and charges.
