Spalding-based exhibition company Euro Concept International (UK) Ltd enjoyed a double win in the Superkart race at Donington Park at the weekend.

The double delight came at the final rounds of the English Championship for 250cc single cylinder machines and the top class ‘Florida Holiday Rentals’ Division One Superkart championship for twin cylinder 250cc machines.

Both races were fast and furious, with drives reaching speeds of up to 140mph and lapping the Donington Park circuit in 66 seconds – which is a very respectable time that many racing cars can’t manage.

The two races were the final rounds of the championships and Carl Hulme, the Division One Euro Concept driver, finished second in the first race.

He was then hit from behind in the second race, an incident that forced him into another kart and damaged the front nose cone, which forced him to retire on lap 12 of the 13.

However, having accumulated enough points from the earlier races, that result was still good enough to secure him the championship title by just nine points ahead of Charles Craven, who won the final race of the day.

Meanwhile, Trevor Roberts – the second Euro Concept driver – was racing a Raider 250cc single superkart that was made at Baston by PFP (Phil Featherstone who makes Raider karts).

He finished second in the first race on Sunday morning and third in the second race, a return that was enough to secure him more points than anyone else after a fine showings in the previous races.

Both drivers and Euro Concept will be at Cadwell Park (Louth, Lincolnshire) on August 30 and 31 to race in the British Superkart Grand Prix – which is guaranteed to be a spectacular event with the best European drivers racing for the GP number plate.

Euro Concept International can be found at Cresswell Park on Enterprise Park in Pinchbeck, Spalding.
