Donor’s 100 pints of blood

Blood donor Terry Day has made his 100th donation more than 50 years after his first.

Terry was ‘encouraged’ to donate while serving with the Royal Navy at HMS Drake in October 1971. He still has the original certificate issued at the time.

Now a member of the Spalding Royal Naval Association Branch, he travelled to Bourne Corn Exchange to donate his 100th.

It had been hoped to make it on the 50th anniversary, but the pandemic meant it could not take place in October.

Terry, pictured right, said he was ‘immensely pleased and proud to be able to reach such a milestone’ and added that he had no intention of calling it a day at this stage.
