Donington man dies in Crowland Road crash

Police have named Donington man Christopher Bond (34) as the motorist who died following a collision in Eye on Friday afternoon (September 1).

Mr Bond of Barnes Road, Donington, was driving along Crowland Road at 2.20pm.

Police said he lost control of his black Range Rover Sport and collided with a telegraph pole.

A nine-year-old passenger suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for treatment. He was released the following day (Saturday, September 9) and is recovering at home.

Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision of the vehicle prior to the incident to contact the road policing unit on 101, quoting incident 290 of September 1.
