Donington B walk away with whitewash win over Consti C

Bourne SC A have held onto the top spot in Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League going into the Christmas break.

Despite not having a match this week, the team remains at the top with 50 points.

Following a 5-1 win at home over Holbeach D, Bourne SC C move into second place, just three points behind their clubmates.

Winners on the night were Chris Page (O7), George Neary Phillips (O21), James Kingston (O28) and Martin Ulyatt (O7).

Denis Hix (R7) got the lone frame for Holbeach, beating Jack Chilvers (O14).

Despite a 4-2 loss to Donington C, Boundary A have taken third place.

Services C drop to fourth after a 5-1 defeat away at Pyramid C.

Bourne SC B have fallen from third to fifth following a 5-1 loss to Services A.

Winners for Services were Vince Fitter (O28), Chris Dunmore (O28), Martin Spencer (O21) and Jake Haslam (scr).

Bourne’s only frame win was courtesy of Elliott Gaunt (O28).

Holbeach C had a good 5-1 home win over Consti E.

Dan Ashton (O7) got Holbeach off to a great start with a convincing win over Simon Law (O7) 52-23, before Consti answered back thanks to Ady Sibley (O28) beating NIck Edwards (scr).

The final three frames went to Holbeach thanks to Terry West (R7), Mark Gregory (O35) and Paul Ashton (R14).

Down at the bottom end of the division, Sutton Bridge are propping everyone up, with just 29 points.
They lost 4-2 at home to Holbeach A.

Victors for Holbeach were Wayne Dent (O42), Derek Beba (scr) and Steve Dent (scr), while Mick Tiller (scr) and Shane Balding (O56) took the frames for Sutton Bridge.

In a bottom of the table clash, friendly foes Pyramid D and Pyramid A faced off.

The A team emerged victorious, winning 5-1 and taking the first four frames courtesy of Victor Rouse (scr), Michael Twell (R7), Matthew Chapman (O7) and John Twell (O14).Steven Twell (R7) lost to Josh Agger (O7) in the final frame.

In Division Two, Consti G are still top despite not having a game last week.

Holbeach B have moved into second place after beating Services E 4-2.

Charlie Mullane (R14) took the first frame for Holbeach, beating Joely Shears (R7), followed by another win thanks to Barry Haynes (O7).

Alan Day (R14) got a frame for Services beating Pete Mullane (O21) before Neil Harvey sealed the win for Holbeach.

Russ Morse (R7) got the final point for Services, hammering Wayne Forbelets (O21) 123-22.

Neither third-placed Services D nor fourth Holbeach F had a game on Thursday night.

Donington A climbed two places after beating Consti H 4-2.

Holbeach E dropped to sixth after losing 5-1 to second-from-bottom Gosberton A.

Pete Ransome (O21) was Holbeach’s only winner, while Geoff Wand (R14), Carl Wand (O7), Alan Jackson (O7) and Adam Twigg (O14).

Services B lost 4-2 at home to Pyramid B.

Reegan Cooke-Holmes (O7), Philip Cook (R7) and Stephen Thompson (R7) won the first three frames for Pyramid, before Tim Nash (O21) and Courtney Boulding (R14) answered back for Services.

Consti B got the better of clubmates Consti F in a mid-table clash.

Steve Spencer (R21), Martin Fear (scr) and John Keeton (O7) took the frames for the B team, while Justyn Stanley (scr) and Warren Peel (scr) were victors for the F team.

Down in Division Three, Whittlesey C have dropped to second after suffering their first loss of the season.

Consti J beat them 4-2 to end their unbeaten run.

Winners for Consti were Les Andrew (R7), Neville Vickers (scr) and Stewart Davies (O7).

Neil Burton (O14) and Jason Bloomfield (O7) got the points for Whittlesey.

The win moves Consti up to fourth.

Gosberton D are in the top spot at the break, having bested Whittlesey B 4-2.

Deac Hempsall (R7), James Parrott (R7) and Brad Brinkman (O14) were winners for Gosberton, with Hempsall and Brinkman both bagging 25 breaks.

Andy (R14) and Pawel Skutela (R7) were victorious for Whittlesey.

Third-placed Donington B have closed the gap with a brilliant 6-0 home win over Consti C.

The winning team was Phil Burrell (R7), Gav Lewis (O7), Pete Burrell (scr), Paul Stewart (R7) and Mick Clark (R14).

The loss leaves Consti second-from-bottom.

It was a bad week for Whittlesey as their A team also lost.

Consti D saw them off 5-1, with wins from Steve Moore (R14), Geoff Ellingworth (R21), Tom Digby (scr) and Ray Digby (R21).

Lance Clarke (R7) took the final frame from John Cooper (R7) to take the solitary point for Whittlesey.
Boundary B dropped two places to tenth following a 5-1 loss to Consti A.

Paul Kent (R7), Chris Hall (R21), Martyn Johnson (R21) and Nigel Steadman (scr) won for Consti.

Wayne Cunnington (R21) was the winner for Boundary.

Despite losing Dougie Lythgoe (O21) got a 21 break and Mick Walker (O35) a 22.

Gosberton C elevated themselves off the bottom of the table with a 5-1 win over clubmates Gosberton B.

The C team jumped three places thanks to the victory.

Winners on the night were James Elliott (O7), who also racked up a 35 break, Rob Lockett (R21) who beat

Richard Crampton (R7), Malc Dennis (R14) who was victorious over Stuart Ruskin (R7) and Stuart Taplin (scr) who got the better of Simon Slinger (R14).

Warren Driver (R21) took the only frame for the B team, beating Mark Payne (O7) 62-19.

Donington D are now holding up the rest of the division after a free week on Thursday.
