Donations appeal to help disabled children’s charity

A charity that funds research to help ill and disabled children is looking for donations of auction items.

Auctioneer Alan Porter came up with the idea for the Spalding Action Medical Research Charity Auction and is running it for the committee.

Petronella Keeling, committee member and Action Medical Research regional chairman, said: “It’s a good excuse for all of us to have a good tidy up after Christmas.

“So far we have been offered things like a pine table, Lloyd Loom chair, a nice rug and people have given crockery and glasses.”

Spalding Action Medical Research has been fundraising since 1967 and now generates £20,000 to £30,000 per year.

It is a joint organiser and beneficiary of Spalding Midsummer Ball.

The committee is happy to consider all donations for the auction but may not be able to accept some things, such as some electrical items, for safety reasons.

Anyone with an item to donate should contact Alan Porter on 07931 429562 or email [email protected]

Alternatively contact the Spalding Action Medical Research committee on 01775 710562 or email [email protected]

The auction will take place at Springfields Events and Conference Centre on Saturday, March 21. Allison Homes has sponsored the hire of the hall.
