Donation sees surgery reopen

An anonymous donation has allowed a GP surgery in Pinchbeck to reopen.

As reported last week, Church Walk Surgery is set to be reopened next month as a branch of the Munro Medical Centre.

It had served Pinchbeck for more than a 100 years, but never reopened after closing for the first COVID-19 lockdown.

Manager at the Munro Medical Centre, Deborah Herd, said: “We are delighted to announce that the Pinchbeck branch surgery is now to be refurbished to restart general clinics for our patients.

“Pinchbeck residents will remember the branch surgery helping patients at Church Walk for over 100 years.

“We would like to thank the help of a generous local benefactor, who wishes to remain anonymous, which has allowed us to do this.

“Work is currently taking place and we anticipate to be able to open by early February or sooner.

“We look forward to welcoming our patients at this important and now refurbished facility to provide this exciting, newly expanded service.”

The surgery will open along with the Pennygate Surgery, offering places for more than 3,000 patients to replace the service at Spalding GP Surgery, held at the Johnson Hospital, which is closing. Beechfield will operate the Pennygate site

Patient drop-in events will be held on January 19 and 26 in Meeting Room 124 at the Johnson Hospital from 2pm to 4pm.
