A group of campaigners at the forefront of transport issues were disappointed that not one district councillor attended their annual meeting.
The Spalding and Peterborough Transport Forum held its annual general meeting at the South Holland District Council offices last Thursday.
Forum member Rodney Sadd said all district councillors were invited to attend the meeting in the hope that members of the public would be able to raise issues with them, however not one of them showed up.
Rodney said: “All present, including the public, expressed their disappointment regarding the lack of attendance by our local councillors who had been invited to the event.
“With so much happening with traffic chaos and transport issues recently in our town it was felt by all concerned an opportunity was lost for the public to air their views with local representatives who were unavailable on the night.
“Although the turnout was small on the night our AGM was well received by all present and we had a representative from East Coast Rail who gave an interesting presentation on targets being met.”
