Deeping derby delight sends Holbeach United second in the league

Holbeach United moved up to second in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division with a 3-1 derby win over Deeping Rangers on Wednesday night.

On a damp Carter’s Park night, two quick-fire goals from Jordan Thomas (20) and Jake Clitheroe (22) gave the Tigers a 2-0 half-time lead.

There was an injury blow for Holbeach before the break, though, with skipper Jamie Stevens forced off.

Deeping improved after the interval and pulled a goal back with ten minutes to play through Jezz Goldson-Williams.

There was to be no comeback, however, with Clitheroe bagging his second soon after to seal the points for Darren Jarvis’ side.

More to follow.
